Gym towels, and how they differ from gym wipes
We manufacture two products in this space and they do different jobs. Gym towels are dry. They are absorbent spunlace towels used to wipe sweat off skin and to lay on equipment. Gym wipes are wet. They are pre-moistened wipes used to clean equipment surfaces and for personal cleansing.
The distinction matters on the shelf as well as on the gym floor. A dry towel is sold on absorbency and hygiene; a wet wipe is sold on cleaning and material claims. If you need the wet product, it is listed separately as gym wipes, and the two are cross-linked so both can be ordered together.
The case for disposable over laundered
Most gyms start with a laundry service and most of them eventually question it. The cost is not the towel, it is the loop: collection, washing, drying, sorting and replacing the stock that is lost or degraded. Water and energy are consumed on every cycle, and the gym still has to police the towels that members leave on machines.
A disposable towel replaces that loop with a fixed cost per user. There is no laundry, no chemical dosing and no excess water, and because every towel is used once there is no cross-contamination between members. Why wood fibre
Absorbency comes from the fibre. Certified renewable wood fibre draws water into the sheet rather than pushing it around the surface, which is why the towel reads as dry in the hand after it has been used. GSM is where absorbency is traded against cost: a heavier sheet holds more and feels more like a textile, a lighter sheet keeps the price point down for high-turnover sites.
